Michael Miropolsky is a graduate of Gnessin Musical College in Moscow, Russia. For ten years, he held a principal violin position with the Moscow State Symphony and performed with the Radio & Television String Quartet. He has performed in more than 25 countries around the world and recorded internationally on the Melodia label.

He came to the United States in 1990, and since 1991 has been both a featured soloist and Assistant Principal Second Violin with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra. Along with his numerous musical activities - judging competitions, teaching extensively, and performing as concertmaster of the Northwest Sinfonietta - Michael also has been a featured soloist with the International Music Festivals in Seattle.

Mr. Miropolsky strongly believes in the value and importance of music education. He is always busy both as violinist and conductor, making school presentations, coaching young musicians, giving master classes, and performing as guest conductor all across the state of Washington.

Maestro Miropolsky was founder and conductor of the Jewish Community Center Chamber Orchestra, conductor of the Northwest School Orchestra in Seattle, and a faculty member of the University of Puget Sound. He was founder and conductor of the Young Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra of the Seattle Conservatory of Music, and he built it into the finest student group in the area. He released the group’s first CD, The Best of Young Virtuosi in 2001.

In, 1999, Michael Miropolsky founded the Seattle Violin Virtuosi, a unique ensemble consisting of 12 violins and a piano. Three years later, he founded the Seattle Chamber Orchestra, and he now serves as Music Director for both of these organizations. With them he released seven CDs on the Ambassador label, earning immediate recognition from audience and critics alike. The Seattle Times said, "...the best of both worlds: Russian tradition and American excellence."

In 2002, Michael Miropolsky was chosen to become the new Music Director of the Cascade Symphony Orchestra. Since then, Mr. Miropolsky has added much to the orchestra’s repertoire, broadened the season with a performance by the Cascade Chamber Orchestra, and brought the orchestra to Benaroya Hall for a brilliant debut in 2005. In the 2006-2007 season, he and the Cascade Symphony enjoyed collaborations with the Choir of the Sound and the Olympic Ballet Theatre, released their first CD, Symphonic Treasures, inaugurated a children’s concert, and returned to Benaroya Hall to celebrate the orchestra’s 45th anniversary.
