"That is a fabulous, fabulous orchestra!" |

What a great concert the Cascade Symphony gave for the opening of the
48th season! I loved every note, and thought the orchestra sounded more
in unison and more polished than ever before. Considering that it was the
largest orchestra ever, that was quite an accomplishment. The pianist, Kimberly Russ, was magnificent! And so was the new principal clarinet, Kevin Fay. When the orchestra chooses to program a piece as familiar to the audience as the Rhapsody in Blue, they have to be perfect. We would know if they were not. And they were! How ambitious you all were to choose to perform all of The Planets! And again how beautifully you played it! Congratulations ! |

It was the The New World Symphony that literally had us all on the edges of our seats and none of us wanted to miss a note.
Terry Pickering, the English Horn soloist, did a beautiful job, but so
did so many others. I loved hearing every note. |

"I really enjoyed the Cascade concert last night. The Clair de Lune and the Weber clarinet concerto were excellent and beautiful. The string sections all have such rich confident sounds!" |
|
"Wonderful concert last night! I had never heard the Honneger before. What a delightful piece! The Berlioz was superb throughout the whole orchestra - everything - woodwinds, strings, brass and percussion - the orchestra had a huge sound to it." Barry Ehrlich |

What a fabulous concert! I thought
'Pictures' was probably the best we would ever play, but think we stepped
it up to another level last night. I never thought I'd ever have the
opportunity to play Mahler 5 in my lifetime, much less in a community
orchestra. What a treat to not only have the chance, but have the group
sound so good playing it. I had some musician friends in attendance last
night and they were blown away that we could play something of that
magnitude so well. Kudos to the strings for that gorgeous 4th movement!!
