**RICK STEVES’ EUROPE: A SYMPHONIC J**OURNEY WITH THE CASCADE SYMPHONY Sunday, October 23, 2011 Monday, October 24, 2011 7:30 PM	Join Rick Steves and the Cascade Symphony Orchestra for a symphonic journey across Europe, October 23rd and 24th at the Edmonds Center for the Arts. This concert, to be filmed for public television, will feature rousing popular favorites from Europe’s greatest composers—including Grieg, Smetana, Strauss, Berlioz, Elgar, Wagner, and Verdi—all introduced by Rick Steves and illustrated with his glorious travel photography. At each performance, a lucky audience member will be selected at random to receive a Rick Steves seven-day European city tour for two of his/her choice! It could be you!
HOLIDAY CONCERT Monday, December 12, 2011 7:30 PM	In its first holiday concert, Cascade Symphony will present a delightful collection of holiday music and dance by Tchaikovsky, Leroy Anderson, and others, featuring Polina Dickenson & Nathan Murstein, dancers. Enjoy a Sing-Along of favorite choruses from Handel’s Messiah.
RACHMANINOFF'S SECOND Monday, January 23, 2012 7:30 PM	Internationally known pianist Anastasia Solomatina will appear with the Cascade Symphony in a performance of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2. The program will also feature Valse Triste by Sibelius, Gershwin’s Selections from Porgy and Bess, and La Boutique Fantasque by Rossini-Respighi.
*CHILDREN'S CONCERT* Saturday, February 25, 2012 3:00 PM	Olympic Ballet Theatre joins the Cascade Symphony for a performance of Prokofiev’s classic ballet, Peter and the Wolf, with narration read by Dave Dolacky. In addition, a young prodigy, the winner of the Cascade Symphony Rising Star contest, will perform the first movement of Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3 in G major, K.216.
BRAHMS FOURTH Monday, March 26, 2012 7:30 PM	The concert will open with the popular Overture to West Side Story by Bernstein. British violinist Emma McGrath, Associate Concertmaster of the Seattle Symphony, will perform Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor. Brahms’ dramatic Fourth Symphony will conclude the concert.
ENSEMBLE CONCERT Sunday, April 15, 2012 - 3:00 pm Edmonds United Methodist Church 828 Caspers Street, Edmonds	Cascade Symphony musicians will perform in a variety of chamber ensembles.
*BEETHOVEN'S NINTH* Monday, May 14, 2012	Cascade Symphony and Music Director Michael Miropolsky welcome the Sno-King Community Chorale, directed by Frank DeMiero, in a joint presentation of Beethoven’s monumental Ninth Symphony in D minor, the Choral. Selections from Delibes’ ballet, Coppelia, will provide a musical appetizer.
