Join
Rick Steves and
the Cascade Symphony Orchestra for a symphonic journey across Europe,
October 23rd and 24th at the
Edmonds
Center for the Arts. This
concert, to be filmed for public television, will feature rousing
popular favorites from Europe’s
greatest composers—including Grieg, Smetana, Strauss, Berlioz, Elgar,
Wagner, and Verdi—all introduced by
Rick
Steves and illustrated with his glorious travel
photography. At each performance, a lucky audience member will be
selected at random to receive a Rick Steves seven-day European city
tour for two of his/her choice! It could be you!

performance of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2. The program will
also feature Valse Triste by Sibelius, Gershwin’s Selections

Rossini-Respighi. |

Olympic Ballet Theatre joins the
Cascade Symphony for a performance of Prokofiev’s classic ballet,
Peter and the Wolf, with narration read by
Dave Dolacky. In addition, a young prodigy, the
winner of the Cascade Symphony Rising Star contest, will perform
the first movement of Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3 in G major,
K.216. |

FOURTH

The concert will open with the popular Overture to
West Side Story by Bernstein. British violinist
Emma McGrath, Associate
Concertmaster of the Seattle Symphony, will perform Mendelssohn’s
Violin Concerto in E minor. Brahms’ dramatic Fourth Symphony will
conclude the concert.
